Build the Foundation
Two age-appropriate tracks: Junior Cadet for ages 4–7 and Cadet for ages 8–12. A continuous martial arts journey that develops discipline, confidence, and character — not just kicks and punches.
The Problem
Most youth martial arts programs teach kicks.
They don't build kids.
No Structure Beyond Belt Colors
Most programs run out of curriculum within a year or two. Kids plateau, get bored, and quit. There's no long-term development plan.
Character is an Afterthought
Discipline, respect, and leadership are listed on the brochure but rarely woven into actual training. Physical technique gets priority over the whole child.
No Bridge to Adulthood
Youth programs end at 12 or 13 with nowhere to go. Kids who trained for years have to start over at an adult school — or just stop training.
Blackstone's Junior Cadet and Cadet programs were built to solve all three. An age-appropriate journey from age 4 through 12 that develops mind, body, and spirit — then seamlessly transitions into adult training.
Two Programs. One Journey.

Curriculum Structure
Five Pillars of Physical Development
Every drill serves a dual purpose: physical conditioning and martial application. Exercises are age-specific and presented as engaging challenges — teaching that hard work can be both demanding and rewarding.
Balance
Posture, Hands, Feet, Ground, Elevated, Spin
Agility
Obstacles, Combat, Drills, Plyometric, Acrobatic
Strength
Core, Arm, Leg, Feet, Grip, Long-term
Coordination
Dexterity, Hand-to-foot, Throw, Catch
Cardio
Run, Rope, Aerobic, Acrobatic
Skills and Drills are organized into three practice formats: Individual (solo technique), Paired (partner work), and Team (group challenges). Each builds different aspects of leadership, teamwork, and individual mastery.
From Parents Like You
Real Families. Real Results.
My son has been in the Cadet program for three years and the transformation has been incredible. Not just physically, but in his character and discipline. The character-based approach sets BMA apart from every other program we looked at.
We've tried local dojos and other online programs. Nothing compares to the structure and values BMA provides. The 14-semester curriculum means my kids won't outgrow it — they'll grow with it.

Common Questions
Two tracks: Junior Cadet for ages 4–7 (shorter classes, 2–3 times per week) and Cadet for ages 8–12 (longer classes, 3–5 times per week). Junior Cadet feeds directly into the Cadet program, and the Cadet program feeds into the adult curriculum — so there's a continuous path from early childhood through the teenage years.
BMA provides a complete, structured curriculum that most local schools lack — progressive content across both youth tracks covering fitness, character development, and martial arts foundations. Your child trains at their own pace with a system designed to prepare them for any martial arts style.
Parent involvement is encouraged and welcome. For Junior Cadets, parents are encouraged to help children practice requirements at home. Parent subscriptions are available so you can train alongside your child and understand their journey.
Junior Cadet (4-7) graduates into the Cadet program (8-12). Cadet graduates feed into the adult BMA Fitness program (ages 13+) or the Individual Martial Arts curriculum — your child never starts over.
